Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

What you may and may not do on the platform.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may and may not do on StudentLife OS. It applies to everyone: students, schools, departments, and organizations. It works together with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

2. Permitted use

StudentLife OS is for:

  • Discovering, posting, and applying to legitimate opportunities
  • Recruiting, hiring, and engaging students through the platform tools
  • Connecting with peers, schools, departments, and organizations
  • Sharing professional and academic information honestly

3. Prohibited conduct

Zero tolerance

Sexually explicit content, exploitation, threats of violence, and content that endangers minors result in immediate, permanent removal and, where applicable, a report to law enforcement.

You agree not to:

  • Post sexually explicit, pornographic, or non-consensual intimate content
  • Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone
  • Post hate speech or discriminate against protected groups
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity
  • Promote or conduct illegal activity, scams, or the sale of illegal goods
  • Spam, solicit, or advertise without permission
  • Misuse Direct Send, Bulk Outreach, or group chats to send unsolicited bulk advertising, to contact people who do not fit the opportunity you are messaging about, or to continue contacting someone who has muted, blocked, or declined you
  • Evade or attempt to evade plan messaging limits, for example by deleting or archiving conversations to recover quota, by spreading a single outreach across multiple accounts or team seats, or by automating sends
  • Upload malware or any harmful code
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual property (see our Copyright policy)
  • Use analytics, audience insights, profile-viewer data, school attribution, or aggregate demographic (DEI) reporting to identify, single out, or re-identify an individual, or to combine it with other data for that purpose
  • Make a recruiting, hiring, admissions, scholarship, or eligibility decision that unlawfully discriminates against a person or protected group, including on the basis of any demographic insight. Demographic reporting is provided for aggregate diversity awareness and lawful, inclusive outreach only

4. Platform and security integrity

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, or otherwise extract opportunities, listings, career fair and event entries, the school and department directory, institution and student profiles, messages, analytics, or any other content or data from the Platform using automated systems, scripts, or bots, in bulk or otherwise, without our written permission
  • Copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, or make available any content or data obtained from the Platform outside the Platform without permission, including opportunity listings, career fair and event listings, the school and department directory, and the data we surface about them
  • Copy, re-list, aggregate, or repost a career fair, event, opportunity, or any other listing created by an organization, school, or department on the Platform, in order to seed, populate, launch, promote, or operate another product, application, startup, marketplace, newsletter, feed, dataset, or service, whether or not that service competes with us
  • Use the school and department directory, institution or student profiles, follow graph, or messaging to assemble, enrich, or sell a contact list, lead list, mailing list, or any database, or for any purpose other than your own legitimate recruiting and relationship building on the Platform
  • Share, resell, or reuse a career fair, event, or conference check-in code outside the specific event it was issued for, or use the check-in system to record attendance you did not actually verify, and do not add event registrants to unrelated marketing lists or use registration or attendance data for anything other than running and following up on that event
  • Use any content, data, or output from the Platform to build, train, populate, or improve a machine-learning model, dataset, index, directory, or any competing or derivative database or service
  • Copy, imitate, reverse engineer, decompile, or replicate the Platform, its design, look and feel, user flows, features, or underlying systems in order to build, launch, or operate a competing or substantially similar product, company, or service (see our Copyright policy)
  • Frame, mirror, embed, or white-label any part of the Platform without our written permission
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or compartments that are not yours, including another organization's pipeline insights or analytics, or to read an institution's or organization's data by altering an identifier, token, or URL
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform except under the disclosure process below
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, account lockouts, plan limits, or security measures, including by using a team member's seat to reach a capability the account's plan does not include
  • Misuse the follow or messaging features on a school, department, or organization profile to send spam, mass-solicit, or harass
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform, its infrastructure, or other users

5. AI features and automated tools

The Platform offers optional AI features (the student apply assistant and the institution candidate ranking). When you use them, you agree not to:

  • Use the assistant to submit false, misleading, plagiarized, or fabricated information, to impersonate anyone, or to misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or authorship
  • Attempt to make the AI reveal, infer, or act on protected demographic or other sensitive identity information, or enter instructions intended to produce a discriminatory ranking
  • Enter prompt-injection, jailbreak, profanity, slurs, or instructions designed to bypass the safety screening
  • Rely on AI output without reviewing it, then treat a resulting error as our responsibility; you are responsible for everything filled, drafted, ranked, sent, or submitted with AI assistance
  • Use any AI feature, output, or data from the Platform to build, train, or populate another model, dataset, or competing service

6. Account sharing and your credentials

You agree not to:

  • Share your password or session with anyone, or let another person use your account
  • Maintain more than one personal account, or create an account for someone else without authorization
  • Use a team seat to reach a capability your account's plan does not include, or to act outside the role you were granted
  • Sell, rent, or transfer your account or access to it

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials and your email secure, enable multi-factor authentication, and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@studentlifeos.com.

Team workspaces and authorized users. If you invite others into an organization, school, or department workspace, you agree to invite only people you are authorized to add and who are permitted to act for that workspace, to give each person their own account, and to assign each the least access their role requires. Do not invite someone who has been removed or blocked from the Platform, do not share one seat among several people, and do not use deactivated seats, repeat invitations, or the timing of a plan change to exceed the seats your plan includes. The workspace and the person who invites a team member are responsible for that member's access and activity, and each team member is responsible for their own credentials and actions. Remove a team member's access promptly when it is no longer needed. See the Team members section of our Terms of Service for the full terms of this relationship.

7. Student eligibility and verification

Fraud is prohibited

StudentLife OS is for real students and recent graduates. Attempts to trick verification, misrepresent enrollment, or use the Platform while ineligible are taken seriously and may result in permanent removal.

If you use a student account, you agree to the following in addition to our Terms of Service:

  • Register and maintain your account only if you are a current student or recent graduate within the alumni-access window described in the Terms
  • Provide accurate signup, profile, and application information at all times
  • Submit only genuine verification documents that belong to you and reflect your actual enrollment or graduation status
  • Never submit forged, altered, borrowed, purchased, or AI-generated verification documents
  • Never submit transcripts, tuition records, portal screenshots, or a Social Security number when asked for enrollment verification; we do not request those items, and sending them does not help you and may be treated as suspicious
  • Never attempt to bypass the verification wall, grace window, or review outcome through multiple accounts, technical tricks, or repeated misleading submissions
  • Never claim a school you do not attend, or continue claiming affiliation after a school rejects your roster claim when you know the rejection is accurate
  • Never use a .edu or institutional email you do not control to obtain automatic trust
  • Never re-register after removal or signup block without authorization
  • Never apply to opportunities while knowing you do not meet eligibility, or submit applications with fabricated qualifications

We may review verification documents manually, compare them against roster and domain signals, open a security case, request more information, suspend access, permanently remove an account, and block an email from future signup. We may share relevant information with schools, organizations, or authorities when we believe it is necessary to address fraud or safety, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You choose what you upload, and it is your responsibility

Upload only a document that proves your enrollment, and cover or redact anything sensitive first. We never ask for a Social Security or taxpayer number, financial, tax, or tuition records, bank details, your full date of birth, or an academic transcript, and you never need them to verify.

Your responsibility for the documents you upload. You decide which document to submit, and you are solely responsible for the document you choose to upload and for everything it contains. Acceptable documents are a current student ID card, an enrollment verification letter, a class schedule, an educational plan, an acceptance letter, or, for recent graduates, a diploma or degree confirmation. If you choose to upload a document that includes sensitive information despite this guidance and the warnings shown in the product, you do so at your own risk, and you, not StudentLife OS, are responsible for any consequences of that choice. If you send us something you should not have, contact support@studentlifeos.com and we will delete it.

8. Responsible security disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability, report it to support@studentlifeos.com. Do not exploit it, do not access or modify other users' data, and give us a reasonable opportunity to respond before any public disclosure. We will not pursue good-faith researchers who follow this process.

9. Consequences of violations

Violations may result in content removal, a warning, temporary suspension, permanent removal, or referral to law enforcement, depending on severity. Enforcement follows our Community Guidelines.

10. Reporting violations

Use the Report option on any content, message, profile, or opportunity, or contact support@studentlifeos.com. Every report opens a case in our security queue and is reviewed by our team.
