What the directory does
One directory, three tabs
Companies, schools and departments in a single screen, each with the filters that actually apply to it. A company has no institution type; a school has no headcount.
Verified partners are marked
The same blue check the rest of the platform uses. Institutions are verified when they are approved and active; employers are verified by our team.
Follow to stay close
Following a partner puts their updates in front of you and tells them you are there. It works in every direction across all three account kinds.
Message from the profile
Open a partner profile and start a conversation. It lands in their portal inbox as a normal thread, with read receipts and attachments.
Location that means something
State and city filters run against the address the partner actually entered, and a department inherits the location of its school.
Locked, never hidden
You always see the full set of filters. The ones your plan does not include are visibly locked with the tier that unlocks them.
Team access is respected
Everyone on your team can browse. Only the seats you have given outbound permission to can follow or message in your name.
Nothing hidden leaks
A partner who has hidden a detail on their profile does not expose it through a directory card, and cannot be found by filtering on it either.

Finding a partner is half of it. Bulk outreach is how you talk to a hundred of them without writing a hundred messages, with a live count of exactly who matches before anything sends.
Message a segment, not a spreadsheet
Bulk outreach lets you compose once and reach a filtered audience of employers, schools or students. Pick the industries, the size bands, the regions and the states, preview exactly how many partners match, then send.
The same vocabulary everywhere
The industry list in bulk outreach is the same list in the Partners directory, the same list an employer picked at signup, and the same list a career fair targets. One vocabulary means a filter never quietly matches nothing.
Share the event, not just the link
Forward a career fair or an event to the partners you pick and it arrives as a message in their portal, not as a cold email they have to dig out of a spam folder.
Questions
Is StudentLife OS only for hiring students?
No. Student hiring is the reason most accounts are created, but the network underneath it is business to business. Every organization, school and department on the platform has a real public profile, and the Partners directory lets any of them find and reach the others. Employers use it to find schools to recruit from and companies to work with. Schools and departments use it to find employers, peer institutions and partner departments.
Which partners can I search for?
All three kinds, from one screen. Companies, schools and departments each get their own tab. Companies can be narrowed by industry, company size, organization type, state and city. Schools and departments can be narrowed by institution type, state and city. Every tab also supports a name search, a verified-only filter, and a relationship filter that separates the partners you already follow from the ones you have not met.
Where do the industry options come from?
They are the exact list every employer picks from when they set up their account, all 23 of them. The directory reads that list directly rather than keeping a copy, so an industry can never exist on one screen and be missing from another. The same is true of the 8 company size bands, the organization types and the institution types.
What happens when my plan does not include a filter?
Nothing is hidden. You see every filter on every plan, and the ones your plan does not include are shown locked with the tier that unlocks them. If a locked filter is somehow submitted anyway, the server ignores it and the results page says plainly which filters were not applied, rather than showing you an unfiltered list that looks filtered. Browsing, searching by name, filtering by state, the verified filter and the relationship filter are included on every plan. Industry, company size, organization type, institution type and city are Pro and above.
Do schools and departments pay for the advanced filters?
No. Schools pay one negotiated price for full access, and departments inherit it. There are no plan tiers on the institution side, so no filter in the Partners directory is ever locked for a school or a department.
How do I actually reach a partner once I find them?
Follow them to stay on their updates, or open their profile and message them. Messages land in the recipient portal as a normal conversation, and following puts a notification in their portal so they know you are there. Both actions are permission gated on your side, so a read-only seat can browse the directory without being able to act in your name.
Can I take the list with me?
Yes. The directory exports to CSV with the filters you have applied, capped at one thousand rows per export. Export is included for schools and departments and is a Premium feature for organizations.
